So far we have seen what is meekness and we have meditated on the below verse on how JESUS invites us to learn from HIM. We have also seen biblical examples and some general ones.
Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Mt:11:29

Today we are going to see how we can practise meekness in our day to day lives. This can only be done with the help of the HOLY SPIRIT.
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts. Zech:4:6
We would fail if we tried to be meek by our own efforts.
Firstly let’s see, the qualities of meekness are –
quiet, gentle, and easily imposed on, submissive.
And the antonyms of meekness are impatient, assertive, overbearing, disobedient and proud.
So any time you get into a situation which tests your meekness, try to follow the example of JESUS. I know its easier said than done. Many times I have realised that I have failed the test miserably only hours later. So I guess the best practice is to prepare your mind early morning when you wake up and spend time in prayer, ask the LORD to help you throughout the day to keep you meek and humble and not to lose your cool. To remind you when confronted with situations that push your buttons.
Some of the day to day incidents would be- Letting someone else take your seat in a bus or in a queue with a smile instead of arguing with them, not losing your cool while driving, not trying to win over an argument, keep quiet even when you are falsely accused or called by names, being submissive to your boss/teacher even when they mistreat you.
So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. James:1:21
In other words, to accept and obey the Word of GOD in all meekness.
Also, arm yourself spiritually every morning. The more you are prepared, the more victories you will get and the less you are prepared, the more vulnerable you are to failure in your meekness test.
I assure you, the more you pray asking GOD to change you, the more tests you will face. But, never ever get discouraged when you fail because the Bible says in Proverbs: 24:16, “Though the righteous fall 7 times they will rise up again”. And you have been made righteous through JESUS!!!
Today I encourage you to start your day with prayer, asking the LORD to help you to be more like HIM – Meek and Lowly!!!
Have a blessed day!
